Our History

Holmes County Pottery, now in its 30th year is located in the Northwest corner of Holmes County. After considering other locations, Holmes County was selected primarily due the large Amish population that attracts visitors from across the country. Our home is located on the same road as our sawmill that provides hardwoods that our large kiln requires. This community places value on handwork and tradition, the perfect combination to nourish creativity and to build a place that has meaning. The Hulin’s property features a full scale pottery workshop, retail shop, a large wood-fired kiln, as well as the family home.

In Memoriam

In the beginning, the property that Holmes County Pottery resides on, featured an amish home and a barn, and in time, new additions of a retail shop, a wood fired kiln and added workshop space were completed. Cary founded the pottery with Elaine Hulin and they worked together for 23 years until her untimely passing in 2018. Cary continued to operate the pottery, with help from family and friends, and that legacy continues today.
